Coyote Removal Services in Alpine, California
Alpine's backcountry setting — bordering Cleveland National Forest, with large rural lots and working ranches — puts it among the most coyote-active communities in San Diego County's East County region. Livestock, chickens, and outdoor pets face real risk near open land and canyon terrain, particularly during pupping season and the dry summer months when coyotes range farther for food and water.
Coyote Control Co provides professional, lethal coyote removal for Alpine homeowners, ranch properties, and rural acreage. We work by appointment only, starting with an on-site visual assessment so we can build a removal plan specific to your property's terrain, animals, and access points.
Why Alpine property owners choose us: Our team holds a California Annual Hunting License (#D-0048018025-8) and California Hunter Ed Certification (#KW22474013), and every removal is carried out using state-approved, humane methods. We use cellular trail camera surveillance to monitor activity patterns before we ever set foot on your property, so our approach is targeted rather than guesswork. We also work directly with local HOAs, ranch managers, and rural property owners across Alpine to make sure our methods fit community standards.
How it works: Initial set up fee: $250 (includes site inspection and up to three (3) Cellular trail cameras). Per Coyote dispatched: $875. Carcass removal fee (optional): $125 per animal. Call or text to schedule your Alpine property assessment.
Serving Private Properties Across Alpine
We serve private homes, ranches, and rural acreage throughout the Alpine area, including Alpine Heights, Harbison Canyon, Dehesa, Peutz Valley, and the surrounding East County communities.
Private Property Only
We work exclusively on private property, with the owner's verbal and written permission. Before any removal, we walk the property with you and set up cellular trail cameras to confirm where and when coyotes are coming through. Then we plan every step around your family, your animals, your neighbors, and your property lines. California Fish and Game Code § 3004 requires written permission from the owner or occupant of any home, barn, or outbuilding within 150 yards of where coyote removal takes place. Before service begins, the property owner is responsible for obtaining signed written permission from any neighbors whose homes or buildings fall within that distance. We do not work in any area where that signed permission has not been provided.

Why Coyotes Target Alpine Properties
Alpine’s oak woodland, dense chaparral, and creek-side canyons give coyotes cover right up to the edge of large rural lots. Chickens, goats, small dogs, and cats are frequent targets, and coyotes that find easy food around a property tend to keep coming back.
Common Questions
Is lethal coyote removal legal in Alpine?
Alpine is in unincorporated San Diego County. California classifies coyotes as nongame animals that can be taken year-round, and state law allows property owners and their authorized agents to remove coyotes that are injuring or threatening their property. We follow state and county rules on every job.
Can you help if coyotes are taking chickens or goats?
Yes. Livestock losses are one of the most common reasons Alpine property owners call us. Trail cameras show us exactly when and where coyotes are coming in so we can focus on the animals causing the problem.
When is coyote activity worst?
Activity tends to rise during breeding season in winter, while adults are feeding pups in spring and summer, and in fall when young coyotes leave to find their own territory.
Isn't trapping more humane?
Many people are surprised to learn that in California, a trapped coyote can't legally be relocated. State regulations require it to be released right where it was caught or euthanized, so when trapping is used to solve a coyote problem, the result is the same. Our approach reaches that result directly, without holding the animal in a trap.
